Telamon Corporation is a non-profit agency funded by the Department of Labor that serves low-income farm-working families. The adult program provides training for clients 18 and older so that they can enter fields of work that are permanent, year-round, and stable, such as manufacturing or nursing. Telamon helps place the adult clients in jobs and can pay for supportive services such as doctor's bills, delinquent rent or utility bills, and transportation. Telamon's youth programs serve youth ages 14-21. The youth specialists work closely with the youth and their families to help them achieve success in school and begin to plan for a career. For more information about this organization, contact Wanda Jenkins at wjenkins@telamon.org or visit their web site.
